Below is a list of commonly asked questions regarding our service. If you do not see the question you have, or would like additional information, please visit the "Contact Us" page and submit your inquiry.

  • What is a GedCom file?

Gedcom is a standard method used by genealogy software programs to organize family history files.  It can be read by any genealogy software program.

  • How do I view the family tree?

You simply upload the Gedcom file that we provide into any ancestry software program.  We don't promote any site over another but two great sites that we use and recommend are Ancestry.Com and MyHeritage.Com.  They both offer free accounts and easy instructions for uploading gedcom files.

  • What if I want to go back further?

We can arrange pricing on a case by case basis.  The amount of research necessary to find your family may be difficult or easy, it all depends on how long they have been in one country, how many marriages they had, and other life events.   Because of this, it is not possible for us to give a quote  or know how much work will be involved without discussing your family with you.  It's best to start with the basic package and then discuss further research options.

  • I am worried about identity theft, couldn't someone use this information against me?

We understand your concern and are willing to work with you to build your family tree.  It may be best not to list any information about living persons until you have your own gedcom file, you can always add these people to the tree after you upload it into the software program of your choice.
